way more durable than I thought
I was a bit skeptical about the fabric outer at first but these shoes were so comfortable right out of the box. The "sock" fit is such a good idea - they really just hug your feet. I have had these for 3 seasons now and have done hundreds of kilometers of hiking and scrambling in these in all kinds of conditions. They dry out quickly when wet - much faster than a leather shoe. And they are only just starting to wear out now. The fabric has lasted much much longer than I would have thought. My husband had the mens version and his lasted 2 seasons. And he is very hard on his gear! I am going to order another pair as I loved these. I have also used them for mountain biking and they have worked great for that.
Blisters.... but AMAZING shoe
Love these. SOLID. Tough. Durable. And a HUGE step up from Trail runners in the mtn rocks. Happy with my first two 15 milers. Comfy, but I did have to take the footbeds out due to my first blisters ever! I also had to order a size up!
Don’t size up?
I sized up half a size, per reviews, but honestly I think I could’ve just gone with my street shoe size for increased actual climbing performance. The super wide toe box makes it difficult to trust any edges, but these things are definitely sticky and feel very supportive for my ankles with the socklike fit.
Mission LT
Very comfortable fit. Got a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear. Excellent sticky rubber on rocky approaches. VERY disappointed that the knitted top layer started coming apart (where it meets the rubber of the toe) after only 3 months of light wear. Contacted Black Diamond warranty and they said that this is considered normal wear and tear. Funny how my Technician shoe, that is built the same way, hasn't had that problem. Sorry to find out that Black Diamond is not standing by their product.
