The Storm 500 is engineered for epics in all conditions, featuring a robust waterproof/dustproof housing and 500 lumens of bright light.

The Storm 500 is engineered for epics in all conditions, featuring a robust waterproof/dustproof housing and 500 lumens of bright light. Powered by our BD 2400 Li-ion battery that’s charged by a micro USB, the Storm 500 R also features a sustainably made elastic headband with Repreve recycled textiles. The compact body is ergonomic, and the updated user interface includes a secondary switch for easy mode selection. In addition, the updated optical efficiency not only provides brighter light, but also saves battery life that you can now easily track with a six-setting, three-LED battery meter.

The Storm 500 R also has three different colored night vision modes and peripheral white lighting for close-range activities like carefully re-racking for the final summit pitch in the dark. The headlamp has our Brightness Memory feature, which allows you to turn the light on and off at a chosen brightness without reverting back to the default, full power setting. The Storm 500 R's PowerTap Technology enables you to quickly and easily access maximum brightness with the touch of a finger.

Good light but poor design

The light, the strap, and the overall features are excellent. However the battery catch that holds the thing together was clearly designed by someone who never goes outside or uses a headlamp. The catch is stupidly fragile. I've seen 3 snap in a week on brand new headlamps. One came in the box already snapped. Our organisation uses a lot of these and we expect them to be robust. These are not. Replace the catch with metal and you'll have a 5 star product. Right now I cannot recommend.

Another Great Headlamp

the Storm has always been my favourite headlamp. I like how intuitive the buttons are and how easy it is to dim and brighten the light. The extra colours on this model are nice (not sure I'll use them all, but it's nice to have some variety away from just red in low light). I find it light enough to comfortably wear for long periods and the adjustments are good to fit over my head and even helmets. Another great headlamp. Thanks BD!

Filled with gimmicks that seem awesome on paper. But when using them in real life its very frustrating For instance the â€œpower tapâ€ . The slightest touch set it off and same goes for turning it back on. In a tight spot? Head lamp maybe touching something strong enough to tap? Its like having your 3 year old near by flicking the lights on and off while you're doing something important. The best head lamp out there by far Is the milwaukee red lithium user replaceable rechargeable headlamp the storm r 500 head light would be a tie if the â€œpower tapâ€ wasnt a feature
